About
Sharing land. Connecting people. Restoring the wild.
The People’s Park for Nature (PPN) is a network of interconnected green and blue spaces managed by or for local communities to restore nature and foster a deeper connection with it.
Our vision
Our Space
Made up of a mosaic of green and blue spaces across our landscape, the People’s Park for Nature is a place we can call ours! The Park will incorporate a patchwork of spaces, including community and privately owned land, nature reserves, farmland, playing fields, gardens, ponds, office rooftops and allotments, all committed to our collective values of nature restoration and community engagement.
Releasing our potential
The People’s Park for Nature will become a uniquely interactive wild place where people are free to contribute in whatever ways they feel able or interested. A place where we can all play and work and relax and release our potential to do amazing things! One of the most important aspects of the Park will be a focus on creative engagement, with locations full of art and activities that celebrate nature and ensure that visitors gain a deeper connection to the natural world.
Our unstoppable nature
At the heart of our vision is the desire to work together to bring our degraded or damaged ecosystems back to their best and brimming with biodiversity. By reintroducing native species, restoring natural processes, and healing landscapes, we will create resilient habitats that support wildlife, improve water quality, and combat climate change. Our work will connect people to nature and foster thriving ecosystems for this and future generations.
The power of a positive movement
Finally, the People’s Park for Nature will be a culturally driven, positive and inclusive movement of people that find ways around the antagonists and naysayers, focusing instead on the enthusiasts and change makers in the knowledge that others will follow in time. In the People’s Park for Nature people are the solution, not the problem.
